The Liebowitz Entrepreneur Program
From Classroom to Company: Hands-On Mentorship, Real-World Results
The Liebowitz Entrepreneur Program, founded at Brooklyn College in 2007 by serial entrepreneur Ted Liebowitz, turns real-world hustle into classroom impact.
Drawing on Liebowitz’s journey—from Brooklyn College accounting grad to telecom pioneer who built nationwide call centers and early internet payment, video, and e-commerce systems; to owner of major domain portfolios; to ventures in nightlife (Suede), film/TV production (executive producer of The Illusionist and Gray Matter), mobile content, restaurants (Southern Hospitality), and Broadway investments (including Hamilton and The Book of Mormon)
This program gives select students hands-on tools, mentorship, and market-tested frameworks to validate ideas, build products, and launch. Students learn funding and go-to-market basics, sharpen strategy with practitioner feedback, and graduate with the confidence and network to move from concept to company with speed and discipline.

I wrote this book to share what I’ve learned about being an entrepreneur—lessons earned by starting and running a range of successful businesses. Little did I know that the bagel route I ran at age ten, serving over a hundred families in the Coney Island housing projects, would set the stage for a lifetime of diverse and exciting ventures.
What You’ll Learn
You’ll get practical techniques, strategies, and the real requirements for entrepreneurial success. There’s no magic formula—every business is different—but one constant is change. The skill that matters most is your ability to pivot as conditions shift.
How These Lessons Were Built
I learned firsthand alongside top businesspeople, lawyers, accountants, publicists, sales pros, and marketers. I’ve attended hundreds of trade shows, traveled millions of miles, and made a point of entering industries I knew nothing about—and learning fast.
I wish you the very best on your journey to becoming a successful entrepreneur.
