November 17, 2015 In a sign that landlords and food cart operators really can coexist, Manhattan real estate firm Fisher Brothers has joined an investment round for food-cart startup Move Systems. In addition, Partner Winston Fisher has joined the startup's board. Long Island City-based Move declined to give a dollar-figure for the financing round, which will be announced Tuesday, except to say that it was in the seven-figures. The money will allow Move to speed up deployment of the carts it has developed, which use natural gas in addition to solar power and can be plugged into the grid by way of a "pedestal" device that the company also provides. The carts feature a restaurant-grade kitchen, a uniform, and streamlined design, and they are safer than traditional food carts, which use propane for cooking.
